The whole country was filled with the joy of independence in 1945 but soon the country was divided. Dong Wha, a native company was not lucky anymore as it lost the manufacturing facility in Manchuria and the big market in the north after independence. Furthermore, during the age of chaos, inferior medicine in the market discouraged it's development. Due to the controversy of ideology, the situation was getting worse and it also affected the production of Dong Wha. However, Dong Wha was stabilized in a short time after taking responsibility of a native pharmaceutical company, which had tradition and energy although it had to suffer again from the Korean war in 1950. while most companies rushed to rebuild themselves by loans from foreign countries, Bo-dang insisted on rebuilding only with national capital to keep their pride as a national company in the unique management strategy of re-investing it's whole profit. This confirmed the company's position as a pure national company but this was not the end of hard times. The Korean pharmaceutical industry was being modernized by introducing manufacturing technology from foreign countries and developing the latest therapeutic agents.
