Dong Wha Pharm developed and released Mi In Whal Myung Su based on the fact that many women suffer from indigestion-related symptoms. According to the Health Insurance Review & Assessment data released in 2014, the number of female patients who complained of indigestion and heartburn that year was more than twice the number of male patients. Moreover, more than 94% of the 247 adult female respondents of Dong Wha Pharm's 2014 survey who had experienced indigestion had bowel-related adverse symptoms such as constipation, diarrhea (loose bowel movement), and pain in the lower abdomen.

The notable feature of Mi In Whal Myung Su is that it contains 1,200 mg of prunus mume. Prunus mume is an herbal medicine made from fumigated green plum. It is registered as an active ingredient of intestinal drugs and antidiarrheal drugs in the "Standard Manufacturing Practices for Pharmaceutical Products."
