Dong Wha Pharm’s (President Yoon Doh-joon) "Bu Chae Pyo Fucidin," a wound-healing medicine, has exceeded KRW20 billion in annual sales. It is a remarkable achievement after 36 years, as it was first released in 1980 in Korea.
A Dong Wha Pharm official said, "We believe that the composition of various formulation product lineups, from the existing tube-type ointment to portable Fucidin, Fucidin Band, and Fucidin Gel, could explain the increase in sales."

In January 2016, Fucidin released the portable Fucidin ointment (7.5 g). It is not a tube-type product, but is an individual packet-type ointment (0.5 g), which is ideal for outdoor activities, such as ▲travel, ▲camping, and ▲hiking. The individual, packet-type Fucidin ointment has received favorable reviews, thus reflecting consumer needs well.
"Bu Chae Pyo Fucidin" has been steadily implementing CSF programs and communicating with customers. CSR programs include the Child Safety Campaign, such as lending safety helmets to children in baseball stadiums with Nexen Heroes, a Maternity School (childbirth and childcare class) for expectant mothers, and funding for the Hong Myung-bo Soccer Academy. The brand has also been in active communication with consumers through its official Facebook and Instagram accounts.
"Bu Chae Pyo Fucidin" effectively treats bacterial infection in wound areas, and helps heal wounds quickly without any scarring if it is used from the start. This steroid-free ointment is safe to use on children, and is available at pharmacies as an over-the-counter medicine.
